This is the edge of the universe. It's located 16 billion light years from Earth, and you will never be able to go beyond it. This edge exists because of the universal speed limit discovered by Albert Einstein. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. There is one exception to this speed limit, though, and that's the universe itself. Turns out that the very fabric of the universe, space-time, is expanding. Much like a sponge filled with water, every point in the fabric of the universe is getting further and further apart. The greater the distance between you and a point, the faster that point will be expanding away from you. There even comes a place far enough from Earth where objects are moving away faster than the speed of light. Even if you were to race towards that place as fast as you possibly could, it would always be beyond your reach. This fundamentally unreachable boundary forms the cosmological event horizon. The physical edge of the universe.
