What's the craziest thing that you've ever seen in someone 's eye? I saw somebody who was gardening once, and he said, I feel like something's in my eye. And I looked around, I saw nothing. You know, I saw some debris, some wood chips around the eye , but nothing inside the eye. And his vision was great. So I was like, okay, you know what, you're fine. But something in my gut was I should dilate his pupil and look in the back of the eye. So I dilated his pupil, and then I saw this ginormous 10- millimeter piece of metal, not even wood chips. It had moved so fast, it went through the cornea clear, didn't even leave a mark. Oh, my God. Went underneath the iris and sat completely off to one side Oh, my goodness. Yeah, it was ginormous. 10 millimeters for the eye is huge. And the pupil looked normal. The lens looked normal. It kind of reinforced it. It must have gone so fast. But it reinforces why we have to dilate eyes, because you never know what's inside the eye. People hate dilation, but it's important.
