Put a finger down if when you were pregnant, you got out of the shower one day and you saw this really weird red rash on your boob and you're like , that's weird. I wonder what that is. And so the next week when you're at the OBGYN for your baby appointment, you're like, hey, can you look at my boob real fast? And they look at it and they're like, uh, that's probably an infection. Like maybe your milk's coming in really early and there's something clogged in there. So they give you an antibiotic. And a week later after taking the antibiotic, nothing's changed. And then the rash is still there. So they give you two more weeks of two more rounds of antibiotics. But even after those two weeks are gone, like the rash is still there. In fact, it's like getting worse and like your skin is starting to look scaly on your boob and you're like, something's not right. And so, uh, they're like, we don't know what this is. So we're going to do a biopsy to make sure that we know what's going on. And so they do a biopsy and the next day they call you and they're like, hey, turns out you actually have this really rare form of breast cancer called inflammatory breast cancer. And it's really aggressive. So what we're going to do is you're going to do chemo while you're pregnant. And you're like, wait, what? And so then like a week later, you find yourself in the chemo center, in the chemo chair, getting chemotherapy while you're pregnant. And you end up having to do that 13 times while you're pregnant. And your baby belly is getting bigger and bigger and your hair is falling out and you're bald. And oh, and also during this time, your oldest child who was three at the time gets diagnosed as autistic. And so you're also trying to manage and figure out what therapy she needs and get her in for all of that. And then you finish chemotherapy. And three weeks after you finish chemotherapy, you give birth to this baby who's been through all this chemotherapy with you, but the baby is totally fine and healthy and thriving. And then 18 days later, when you're still wearing like the adult diaper from giving birth, you have to go in and get a mastectomy and have your breast removed because they want to make sure that the chemotherapy worked. And you get the really good news that the chemotherapy worked and there's no more cancer in your boob, which you're like, that's really awesome. But now you're a uniboob and you only have one boob and you have this newborn baby. And then they're like, hey, you also need to do radiation because the cancer was in your skin. So we're going to burn the shit out of your skin. And they do. And it makes this like really weird green goo, like something from Ghostbusters. And it's so slimy because of all the radiation, the burnt skin. And you're still having to like take care of this now three month old baby. And then you finish radiation and things start to heal up. And then they're like, oh, actually, you also need to get your ovaries and tubes removed because your cancer is fueled by hormones. And we want to make sure that like we eliminate all possibility of this cancer ever coming back. And so you end up getting your ovaries and tubes removed and you're 33 and you have a six month old. And as soon as they do that, you go into menopause. And so now you're having hot flashes and all the menopause things. And then after that, you end up having reconstruction. And so they remove your other boobs. So you're no longer a uniboob. And now you have two fake boobs and you're still cancer free four years later. And you're now almost four year old is thriving. And your oldest daughter, the autistic one, is doing amazing. And your whole family can't even believe that that's happened. And you have PTSD. But at least you have two new boobs.
