Tanzania's geography is so good. Tanzania, the largest country in East Africa, is bordered by three of the largest lakes on the African continent. Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Malawi. The highest point in Africa, once an active volcano, Mount Kilimanjaro is located within Tanzania's borders. Tanzania is a vast country, larger than France and Germany combined, and shares borders with eight other African nations. The country's varied landscape encompasses the Great Rift Valley, high mountains, lush green coastal plains and the Zanzibar archipelago. Nearly 30% of Tanzania is dedicated to national parks and game reserves. The Saloo Game Reserve is the world's largest and home to 120,000 elephants. The Serengeti National Park is the oldest and most popular. Every year, the Great Migration sees over 2 million animals mainly zebras and wildebeest, move across Tanzania and Kenya in search of food. It is a dangerous business, especially when they cross the Mara River full of crocodiles.
