These are my parents, and when I was a kid they used to tell me lies to make life easier. For example, my mom used to tell me that if I didn't drink my orange juice as quickly as possible all the vitamin C would run away. And I know that these lies were made to protect me. But the problem is that I didn't know that the orange juice story was a lie until a year and a half ago. So to make myself feel a little better I started asking my friends if they had also been lied to. Damn, I guess we've all been lied to. Mila's parents used to tell her that she needed to shower to grow, like plants. Isa was warned that in life we all have a limited amount of tears, so we should cry in moderation. Renata was told that if she made a silly face as a cold gust of wind passed, she'd have that face forever. Illy believed that if she swallowed a seed, a tree would grow in her belly. Ollie thought that if he watched too much TV, his eyes would turn into squares. And Louie used to be told that if he heard the music from the ice cream truck, it meant that there was no more ice cream. I guess I'm not the only victim of these lies.
